Most Beautiful Place Ever!!!! That's what the name of Thailand should be. I have done so many cool things and seen so many beautiful places and it has only been one week! I already feel super behind on updating you guys! Basically, We started teaching the kids this week, so today is day three and I am wiped out! this is going to be both a long and short four months. Long because teaching kids will always be a tiring, and short because they are so darn cute and it's the little moments when the really get what you are trying to teach them that really make the 45 minutes of repeating the same kind of phrases over and over again, worth it.
Aside from teaching, I have had the chance to take some pictures of the surrounding area so you guys can see all the beauty that I am seeing.
I have no idea what any of these flowers are called, but I didn't do any editing, They are seriously all jus that big, bright and perfect.
This is where I live. Ya not bad right? The lady who runs the school, her name is Tang, she is a civil engineer and she designed the school. She said she wanted it to look a bit like Hogwarts. It is really nice inside.
This is the view outside our window from our room. That's the kitchen down there and the garden off to the left, and the house behind the kitchen is where we keep our bikes and if we ever needed to, we could teach classes down there too.
This is the view from the room that I teach out of this week, we have different rotations of the classes that we teach each week, so this week I am teaching the Oldest kids in the K3 class.
After a long day of teaching, we felt like treating ourselves to a pedicure. I went into the shop to ask them how much it was for a pedicure, (I said it all in thai, it's tow-rai-ka or how much is it while pointing at my toes) It was only 60 baht for a pedicure. In America, that's exactly two dollars.
My finished feet! It was my first pedicure ever and I got it inThailand! I was actually kinda nervous during it because the lady who was doing my feet kept poking and talking to the lady in thai next to her and pointing at my big toes and it looked like she didn't know what to do with them. Turns out, your supposed to cut down your toenail cuticles once and a while? I have never done that honestly, so It kinda hurt! If you look closely, you can see the red on my big toes where she got all my cuticles out. It really actually hurt! But they look great!
If this was the only reason that I came to Thailand, I would have still come. I have had one of these every single day since I have been here. It's a coco shake. It is unlike anything that i have ever tasted and I seriously don't know how I am going to survive without getting one everyday! The people at the shake shop are getting pretty used to us coming in all the time because the last time that we came in, they just gave us a piece of paper to write our orders down on and give it to them because there are so many of us.
this fruit is superb! I didn't get pictures of all the other fruit before it was gone but we had pineapple, dragon fruit, this humongous grapes that had a shell on the outside, and then these purple things that looked like passion fruit, but they were white on the inside and they tasted so good! They were my absolute favorite.
Oh MY GOSH!! No just kidding these are my absolute favorite. (If it seems like everything is my favorite, that's cause it is) One of the kids from the school has a grandma who brought these for us and they were seriously heaven wrapped in a banana leaf, or whatever kind of leaf that is. They were like these fruity jell squares with coconut on the top. None of the others girls cared for them too much but I LOVE them! I have to find them again somewhere!
These are the paddle boats were going to take a ride on some day, we got there too late the other night and they were closed. So we just took a walk around the river watching the sunset.
So Beautiful
All of the docks around the river.
All the wonderful teachers I get to spend time with here in Thailand
Seriously, can life get any better than this? Many Many thanks again to my extremely awesome parents for the camera that takes such great pictures! You guys are the best! LOVE YOU!
"Super Smile! " :)
great photos! I'll just live vicariously through them:) Everything looks absolutely beautiful! Glad you're enjoying it. So, I think you should find the recipe for those coconut things so we can try to make them here and actually taste what you're eating:)
