Japanese! A very new food for me especially since I do not like seafood at all, and japanese food is mostly seafood. Raw too I might add. Sushi...was fun to try, but not really my thing. Should have guessed that since I hate fish with a passion, but I needed to try new things.
We were invited to go out to lunch with our new friends Nattida and her mom who we met in Phichit one day. Nattida asked us if we would tutor her in english because she has a big english test coming up and since we wouldn't let her pay us, we experienced thai hospitality firsthand as their payment to us. They drove us to Phitsanolok which is a much larger town than Phichit about 40 minutes away. They have a massive mall there which has lots of different restaurants. First they took us out to this really swanky Japanese place. We got to try so many cool looking things. I was so very proud of myself for trying everything, even though it was very hard for me when it came to the raw salmon and the raw tuna. But I did it! And the squid was one of my favorites.

We are pretty much pro with chopsticks anymore. That's Nattida on the right. She is so cute!
Everything was so beautiful, I didn't want to eat it! Maybe that was also a bit of me just being scared of all the raw seafood, but I didn't gag on anything! (ok maybe just a little on the tuna)
Going for my first bite of sushi!
It was a really fun day! After we finished all of our Japanese food, Nattida and her mom took us to the restaurant next door, and got a pizza! haha and some pasta, and some chicken wings and some garlic bread! Thai people know how to eat and love to feed their guests! Afterwards we walked around the mall, got some pretzels, and got to look around at the vegetarian markets because this week was vegetarian week in Thailand. Everyone eats tofu instead of meat, like everybody I guess. Of course, Nattida bought us these yummy little cake things, along with some drinks while we had pizza. We didn't really stop eating the entire day. I don't think I have been so full since I have been here!
